London will host the Nitto ATP Finalsfor the 12th and final time this month, with the world’s best players descending on the English capital before the ATP’s flagship event moves to Turin, Italy in 2021 for the first of at least five years. Here are 10 things you might like to know about the Nitto ATP Finals. The ATP Finals begin on the 15th November and run for 1 week until the 22nd November 2020. Where are the Nitto ATP Finals? The tournament is held at the O2 Arena in Greenwich, London. It has been held in London since 2009, but in 2021 is moving to Turin, Italy.

Nitto Denko Corporation (Headquarters: Osaka; President, CEO & COO: Hideo Takasaki; “Nitto”, hereafter) has today announced a five-year extension of their highly successful partnership with the ATP until 2025. The extension will see Nitto continue as title partner of the season-ending Nitto ATP Finals, in partnership with the ATP, the Italian Tennis Federation (FIT), and the City of Turin. Nitto will also become a year-round Gold Partner of the ATP Tour and its Official Athletic Tape Sponsor.

The Nitto ATP Finals is the year-end finale of the ATP Tour season, where the world’s best men’s players battle it out for the Tour’s most prestigious title. From 2021-2025 the Nitto ATP Finals will be held in Turin, in collaboration with the ATP, FIT and City of Turin. In addition, by becoming a year-round Gold Partner and Official Athletic Tape Sponsor of the ATP Tour from 2021, Nitto will provide its athletic taping products to the ATP Medical Team to support many tennis players throughout the season.

The ATP Finals 2020 is set to begin as the top eight male players in the world will compete for the top prize. The tournament marks the end of a difficult season that saw numerous tournaments being canceled and many scheduling changes.

Nitto Atp Masters 2018

Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal headline the ATP Finals 2020 as the top two seeds. They are followed by the likes of Dominic Thiem and Daniil Medvedev. Defending champion Stefanos Tsistipas, Alexander Zverev, Andrey Rublev, and Diego Schwartzman complete the line-up.

The tournament will be played behind closed doors. With the absence of fans in the stadiums, the job of commentators becomes more challenging to keep up the excitement levels during the matches.

Some of the best tennis commentators will bring the action to the fans watching remotely.

Commentators for ATP Finals 2020

Robbie Koenig

Robbie Koenig is a prominent name on the ATP Tour’s commentary and analysis circuit. Koenig was a top doubles player in his playing days and even made the US Open doubles semi-finals.

The South African is in the commentary booth for most of the ATP Masters 1000 events. He also features during the Australian Open, Wimbledon, and US Open. Some of Koenig’s comments on-air are quite famous among fans.

Nick Lester

Nick Lester is one of the top commentators on the ATP Tour. After retiring as a player, Lester stepped onto the commentary scene and his partnership with Koenig is well known. Lester commentates during the major ATP Masters 1000 and 500 events.

He is always on-air during the big matches on the ATP Tour.

Greg Rusedski

Rusedski is a former world number four player. He represented Britain as well as Canada during his tennis career. Rusedski is a former finalist at the 1997 US Open.

Rusedski was the British number one player as well on various occasions. He also represented Britain’s Davis Cup team and scored 30 wins over his Davis Cup career.

Daniela Hantuchova

The former world number five WTA player has been an active commentator and analyst since her retirement in 2017. Hantuchova announced herself on the tour with a win over Martina Hingis in the 2002 Indian Wells final. She reached the Australian Open semi-final in 2008 and is also a quarter-finalist at Wimbledon and twice at the US Open.

She covers major tournaments as a commentator for Amazon Prime and also provides analysis.

Tim Henman

The former world number one and one of the top British tennis players of all-time, Henman retired from tennis in 2007. He has since been an active commentator and analyst, especially at Wimbledon.

As a player, Henman won 15 career titles. He reached the Wimbledon semi-finals on four occasions, as well as once each at the French Open and US Open. He is also a silver-medallist at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games.

Sam Smith

Sam Smith is a former player herself. Smith was the number one British female player from 1996-1999. Smith reached the Wimbledon fourth round in 1998, beating former champion Conchita Martinez in the process. An ankle injury cut short her career and Smith retired in the year 2000 before the age of 30.

She is already an experienced tennis commentator and is known for her analysis of the sport.

Mark Petchey

Mark Petchey is a former ATP player from England. He turned pro in 1988 and even made the top-80 of the world rankings in 1994. After retiring from tennis, he even coached Andy Murray for a brief period, during the early phase of Murray’s career.

He is now a top tennis commentator for the likes of Amazon Prime and BBC.

Annabel Croft

Croft is a former top-30 WTA player. Croft represented Britain in the Fed Cup as well in 1985 and 1986. However, she announced her retirement from the sport at a very early age of 21 as she did not enjoy playing at the time.

Her best Grand Slam is two third-round appearances, at Wimbledon and US Open.
